Stern Center - PJDS
The Forman Center offers a stimulating and caring setting in which children learn how to learn and how to love learning. In our warm, supportive environment, students are encouraged to work together. They study with dedicated and caring teachers who seek to develop their strengths and help them achieve success. Pursuing knowledge and goodness inspired by the highest ideals and values of Jewish life, students grow as they are exposed to a rich curriculum in both general and Jewish studies.

Extra-curricula activities are central to daily life at the Forman Center. These programs encourage the development of respect and responsibility in our community of learners. The Forman Student Council has won awards for outstanding achievement as a group fostering exemplary values and sensitivity in our students while performing mitzvot in our school and the community at large. At the Forman Bet Din ("School Court"), student justices are problem solvers working to help their friends resolve issues and grow in their relationships with each other. The intramural sports program and after school sports activities develop good sportsmanship while helping students develop physical abilities. The school orchestra, instrumental music program, choir, Israeli dance classes and drama club offer opportunities to develop artistic talents.

Learning is a family affair. On Friday mornings, parents gather at school to study the weekly Torah portion. Periodically, Hebrew classes are offered to adults. The family education committee organizes programs to learn about and celebrate our rich Jewish heritage. Erev Shabbat luncheons enable parents and students to share the rituals and beauty of a traditional Shabbat experience together. Our parents join us at school to participate in prayer services, accompany trips and volunteer their talents and wisdom. We continue in the tradition of our rabbis who taught: "The world depends on three things: the study of Torah, service to God and deeds of kindness" by incorporating these values into the lives of our school community.
