Students in fifth grade hosted their first-ever World Fair! Over the past several months, they have been working in small groups to create their own countries on a newly-imagined continent of “Fifthlandia.” When building and envisioning their countries, each group of students developed their country’s constitution, laws, designed its map, and introduced other components that make their country unique. Students connected the challenges they faced when creating their countries’ governments with the challenges faced by the founding fathers when they built the government in the United States. At the conclusion of their projects, they set up a fair for their student peers to visit and learn about their newly developed countries.
Our students are encouraged to develop breakthrough thinking – using creativity, resilience, and responsibility to solve problems and initiate change in our global society. Perelman Jewish Day School students take risks, navigate obstacles, and uncover better answers.
