Fourth-grade students embarked on an engaging, hands-on learning experience as they researched natural disasters, designed digital presentations, and delivered reports to their peers. Through collaboration, they explored the science behind tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, and floods, conducting experiments and simulations to deepen their understanding.
Their presentations not only examined historical natural disasters but also provided essential safety tips, empowering their classmates with knowledge to prepare for extreme weather events.
To further enrich their studies, students had the unique opportunity to speak with a meteorologist from the National Weather Service and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Adding to the excitement, NBC10 meteorologist Brittney Shipp visited the class to share her expertise, read with the students, and even lead a weather-themed dance!
By combining teamwork, creativity, and real-world application, Perelman students are developing essential research and presentation skills that will serve them well in any future endeavor.
