Perelman Students Create Stop-Motion Films

Students in 1st and 3rd grades filmed their own stop-motion animation films in our Landau Makerspace. Each film is compiled of snapshots, which students have carefully photographed and arranged to ensure each frame transitions smoothly into the next.

Our 3rd grade students built the sets, characters, and created a storyline for their films. For our 1st grade students, this Makerspace project was integrated with their General Studies unit on nouns and adjectives. After learning about nouns and adjectives, they made pictures of nouns and used plastic letters to spell a related adjective, moving each letter one snapshot at a time to create a fun effect.

Perelman fuels creativity as our students are challenged to find new ways to be innovative in everyday learning!
