Third and Fourth Grade Students Visit the Philadelphia Orchestra

Our 3rd and 4th grade students took a field trip last week to the Philadelphia Orchestra! Prior to the concert, a speaker from the orchestra visited our school to prepare students for what they would be experiencing. 

During music class, students learned about instrument families, different musical time periods and composers from each period, and the musical pieces they composed. During the concert, students applied their knowledge to identify compositions and composers they had been studying while gaining hands-on exposure to the musical arts!
