Our students learned civics in action by participating in their own mock election during Election Day, voting for Queen Esther vs. Judah Maccabee! Fifth grade students and Student Council members coordinated the election by developing and presenting a campaign for each candidate, building voting booths, and checking in voters as they arrived with their “voter registration cards.”
Fifth grade students also held their own elections as students ran for leadership positions for this year’s Student Council Executive Board, creating their own campaigns and delivering speeches to their peers. Each grade also participated in age-appropriate election conversations and activities to learn about what it means to be active citizens.
Our students are learning through interactive, firsthand experiences that equip them with the skills they need as they grow and become the next generation of leaders.
