First Grade Students Perform Readers’ Theater Puppet Shows
First grade students have been learning about theater and fairytales during an integrated reading and social studies unit, which culminated with a first grade trip to the Arden Theatre Company where they watched the production of Pinocchio.
Before going to the theater, first grade students brought their own shows to life. They wrote and practiced reading fairy tales and created their own puppets in our Landau Makerspace. They then collaborated with their reading group members to act out the fairy tales in a Readers’ Theater Puppet Show in front of their 5th grade buddies! At Perelman, our students explore the unknown, push boundaries, take creative risks, and learn to speak up!
